Anthony Joshua: The Man Who Jabbed His Way Out Of Jail Time

Anthony Joshua, where to start with this young prospect. An ex drug dealer who came within a whisker of serving time, to Olympic gold medalist within the space of a year. Joshua started his amateur career in 2007 and rose through the ranks at a rapid rate to become the first British Super Heavyweight Olympic Champion since Audey Harrison in 2000, a feat achieved by the likes of Wladimir Klitschko and Lennox Lewis the last man to unify the heavyweight division. Now the man mountain is tearing up the heavyweight ranks at professional level, even if his opponents are deemed unsuitable, he certainly needs credit 13 fights, 13 knockouts, and only 24 rounds.

The question now is what next for the 25 year old, he needs a challenge and he certainly isn't getting one from the type of fighters he has been matched with so far. A British title shot can't be far away, but if he goes in to it off the back of the fights he's had so far a lack of experience could prove to be a downfall.

David Price, that's a name that has circulated for a few months now. Granted he had two early stoppages in 2013 he has certainly got the potential to trouble Joshua and he has bounced back with four wins on the trot, three of which were stoppages. At very least he can push Joshua a bit harder than he has been thus far, another powerful fighter who has won many of his fights by KO, 16 of 19 wins to be precise. At the same time he may not trouble Joshua, after all he has all the assets to become an exceptional force in the heavyweight division, and let's not forget Kevin Johnson was tipped to cause him trouble, well at least an extra few rounds were expected and look how that ended.

Fans everywhere just want to see him fight a more worthy opponent, but to be fair is there one out there that he could be matched with so early in his career? Nobody knows because we have not seen him get into his stride, everyone put in the same ring as him are disposed of in a timely fashion. Maybe it is a case of just finding fighters willing to go toe to toe for the next 6 month, then get him in for a British Title shot early next year. Some fans are even questioning how good he is and are starting to think he's not ready for the big league, but for me it's a debate that can't be settled until we see him go 7+ rounds.

Do I think he'll be a world champion? Yes.

Do I think he'll unify the heavyweight division? Yes.

When will he be ready to step up? I don't think anybody but him knows the answer to that, we've witnessed what he is capable of, but he still lacks experience. Every pro has its con, speaking of which how happy are you all that this pro didn't become a con...vict that is! Possibly the most exciting British heavyweight I've lived to see so far! Lets take a look at some of those hammer fist knockouts this young lad has and can deliver....
